I recently submitted an application to Barrington Hills for a text amendment for "Agritourism as a Special Use" and would like to get the community's input. I’m hosting a live in-person Q&A session at the Barrington Library on Tuesday, July 23rd, from 6 PM to 8 PM to discuss our proposal.
As you may have heard, Little Ducky Flower Farm had to shut down our U-pick operation in late May after a trustee filed an official complaint on behalf of an anonymous resident. We opened our property to connect with our neighbors and community through local flowers, and we are working to make this possible again.
While we are collaborating with our trustees and zoning board, we also want to hear from you about why you do or do not support this in our community. I will be available to answer questions about our operation and understand concerns from those who are hesitant about this idea.
We respect the town's decision not to hold these events on the farm, so we will be holding it at the local library. Given that we haven’t been able to see everyone since our closure, it would be great to meet all our old friends too.
We can use your public support and will communicate ways to help in the near future.
